5. Knoxville City Greenways
Knoxville City Greenway is a long trail and goes through multiple parks and lookout areas. It is a multi-use trail and a great place to walk. The greenways follow natural water courses, traverse open spaces and parklands. In the city’s northwest neighborhoods, the greenway runs through Victor Ashe Park. The 120-acre recreational amenity provides a large playground, fishing areas, and a dog park. You can take your dog in this trail for multiple times and every time you will have a new experience.
6. Margarette Falls Hiking Trail
Located in Greeneville, Margarette Falls Hiking Trail has a length of 2.7 miles. This is a beautiful and peaceful hiking trail throughout the year. It provides various range of terrain for both you and your dog. It is one of the popular trails in Cherokee National Forest. The temperature is perfect for hiking and the view of the sky would give you an opportunity to click some good pictures. The trail is gorgeous, beautiful and makes a good physical workout.
7. Max Patch Trail
Max Patch Trail is a moderately easy hike which is 3.5 miles long. The trail is in the Pisgah National Forest which will take about two hours to complete. The beauty of the trail makes it more popular. The dog must be leashed in this trail. It is one of the safest places in East Tennessee for hiking with your dog. Be aware of the weather before planning your hike. the bald has been known to get lightning strikes. The place is very well exposed and you may be caught up in a bad weather.
8. Murfreesboro’s Stones River Greenway System
This is a nice, long and well-maintained trail. Murfreesboro’s Stone River Greenway System comprises 8.5 miles of linear park trails in the Stones River and Lytle Creek areas. It passes by creeks, open grassy areas, and a dog park. The asphalt trails are paved to allow walking, jogging, rollerblading and bicycling. The 12 feet wide pave gets hot in the summer but most of the time it is in shades or has enough shades for your dog to walk. You can find lots of people running with their dogs in this trail because of the wide space.
